About

History, Affiliations and Rankings Simon Fraser University, named after the explorer Simon Fraser, opened its gates to prospective students on September 9, 1965. It prides itself on its diverse wave of students. The University is affiliated with AUCC, CARL(Canadian Association of Research Learning), IAU(International Association of Universities), ACU(Association of Commonwealth Universities), CUSID(Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate), CBIE(Canadian Bureau of International Education) and CUP(Canadian University Press). According to QS World Rankings 2022, the university is ranked #298 in the world and placed between #201-250 as per THE Rankings 2022.



History of Simon Fraser University Burnaby

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses SFU has three campuses across Canada- the main campus in Burnaby and two in Surrey and Vancouver. The University provides campus services like a bookstore, dining services, residence and housing, technology services, career services and more, alongside the library and student learning commons available for research work. There are eight faculties at Simon Fraser University (Faculty of Applied Science, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Beedie School of Business, Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Environment, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Science). The university offers more than 400 courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in various subjects including journalism and media, medicine and health, humanities, social sciences and business and management and more.
