About
There are seven campuses of the university around the world. With 300 acres, University Park is The University of Nottingham's largest campus. The campus, which has been a part of the University since 1929, is widely regarded as one of the UK's largest and most attractive. University Park, which is surrounded by lush greenery and centred on a lake, is the hub of activity for students, staff, and visitors. Only two miles from the city centre, this campus is conveniently located. Since 2003, Jubilee Campus has been a Civic Trust Green Flag Award Winner every year, making it the only university campus to do so. Sutton Bonington Campus, King's Meadow, Queen's Medical Centre, Ningbo and Malaysian Campus are the other locations of the university. The university offers various undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a wide area of disciplines. The Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Social Sciences altogether make the University of Nottingham.
History of University Of Nottingham
Nottingham's first civic college opened in the city centre in 1881, four years after former Prime Minister W E Gladstone placed the foundation stone. The college expanded its initial structure after World War I. Sir Jesse Boot's generous donation of 35 acres of land at Highfields provided the solution, and the College moved to what is now University Park in 1928. The University of Nottingham was granted a Royal Charter in 1948, allowing it to award degrees under its own name in the UK. The Midland College of Agriculture at Sutton Bonington merged with the University during this time, resulting in the formation of the School of Agriculture. The university is also affiliated with the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Association of MBAs, EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), European University Association (EUA), Russell Group, Sutton 30 Universitas 21, Universities UK, Virgo Consortium and M5 Universities. In the QS World University Rankings 2022, the University of Nottingham is ranked #103 and as per THE World University Rankings, the university ranks #141. Furthermore, University of Nottingham also ranks #24 in the Complete University Guide University League Tables 2022 and #52 in the Guardian's the best UK universities 2022 – rankings.
