About

The university belongs to the Russell Group, which comprises the leading research-intensive universities of the United Kingdom and consists of three campuses. The university organizes its educational and administrative departments into six schools of higher education. The University of Exeter graduates have worked in different disciplines including Sports, Theatre, Music, and Journalism. The campus is home to a large number of research centres and institutions. There are more than 200 student organisations, including the creative writing, theatre, and Conservative Future societies as well as Socialist Students Societies. The institution maintains an athletic union that is in charge of planning and running all sporting events in a fair and effective manner. More than 50 sports groups with over 5,000 students are governed by the union.



History of University Of Exeter

The University of Exeter, founded in 1955, is a public university dedicated to research and is a member of the Russel Group of research-intensive UK Universities. Its predecessors include St Luke’s College, Exeter School of Science, and Exeter School of Art. It was one of the municipal institutions that received university status prior to World War II in the 1950s as a result of the second civic universities movement. The university is a member of the Universities UK, the European University Association, Association of Commonwealth Universities and Association of MBAs. The University of Exeter ranks at #143 in THE World University Rankings 2022. The university also ranks at #149 in QS World University Rankings 2022.
