Concordia University is also known for providing students with the best campus life as it encourages students to have an active lifestyle by taking part in varsity teams and clubs. The campus of the university spans an area of around 40 acres. Concordia University is spread over two campuses, the Loyola campus and the Sir George Williams campus, the latter being the main campus. The campus offers more than 100 graduate and 300 undergraduate programs and courses, where the university provides immense career opportunities. The university is characterized by its four faculties of Arts and Science, Fine Arts, the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, a graduate school and numerous centres, universities and institutes. It offers degree programs in Arts, Science and Management, as well as top-quality programs in Education and Public Health, and Masters degrees as well.



History of Concordia University

Concordia University, located in the dynamic and cosmopolitan city of Montreal, is one of the top-ranked universities in the world built within the last 50 years, as well as one of Canada's largest urban universities. Following the merger of Loyola College and Sir George Williams University on August 24, 1974, the university was officially established. Concordia adopted its name from Montreal’s motto, Concordia Salus, which means “well-being through harmony.” The university's basic principles, which include a dedication to better individuals and society, are derived from those held dear by Loyola and Sir George Williams for many years. Concordia has academic affiliations with organisations like Universities Canada, International Association of Universities, Canadian Association of Research Libraries, U Sports, Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec and more. In numerous worldwide rankings, the institution and its programmes are ranked among the top in Canada and the globe. In 2021 THE Young University Rankings, it is ranked as Canada's best university for students under the age of 50. The CEO Magazine has placed the university at #2 in Canada for its EMBA programme, while THE Rankings by Subject 2021 has ranked it between #6–8 in Canada for Engineering. The QS World University Rankings 2022 and THE World University Rankings 2022 rank the university between #521-530 and #601-800 respectively.
